A beautiful hot service for 4 persons, made by Boch in Louvieres between 1900 and 1949.
The service consists of an original tureen with paw-shaped handles - Societe Ceramique Maestricht, Holland, deep plates - 4 pcs. and plates for main courses - 4 pcs. Boch-F, Belgium. Plus 2 pcs. additional plates as a gift (these have a small defect) Boch-F, Belgium
Societe Ceramique Maestricht was founded in Maastricht, the Netherlands by Guilaume Lambert & Cie in 1859 and merged with NV de Sphinx in 1958. The new company was called Sphinx Ceramique and, as far as we know, is still operating in Maastricht (sometimes spelled Maastricht), Holland.
The Boch manufactory was founded in the Belgian La Louviere by Jean-François Boch, one of the main owners of another famous company Villeroy & Boch. In 1844, Victor Boch took over the leadership of Boch Freres SNC.
The underglaze blue fluted pattern is partially hand-engraved. A real gem on your desk or on your favorite display.
