This superb lamp features a base made of Opaline, in Jadeite uranium glass, decorated with golden flower motif.
The glass ball is a mouth blown glass ball, decorated by hand, ending with a ruffled rim.
This antique oil lamp has been electrified, it comes with a functional LED electrical bulb.
The first Opaline glass was made in Murano in the sixteenth century, with the addition of calcium phosphate, resulting from the calcination of bones.
Most green or yellow opaline glass is uranium glass. Uranium glass has a fascinating history; it was first produced in the 19th century and has become a popular collector's item over the years.
