From the Longchamp Faience factory, founded in Burgundy, France in 1832.
"Terre de Fer" is a trade term referring to a refined form of faience, which is halfway between traditional earthenware and porcelain. This particular type of faience is characterised by the use of feldspar, a mineral compound, and kaolin, which make it whiter and more resistant.
