Overview
Set of one tea cup and one plate of orange dragonware made of fine Japanese porcelain, will make your tea party special and aesthetically pleasing.
Having taken the last sip, and looking at the bottom of the mug in the light, you will find a portrait of a certain Japanese young lady with a traditional hairstyle. An image of a geisha adorns the bottom of the cup, like a watermark on a banknote. In the normal state, the pattern is not visible, you can only feel its slight relief with your fingers.
Lithophany, at the bottom of the bowls you can see the face of a geisha, whose appearance served as a kind of sign of the manufactory, or rather a number of factories in the same area.
Kutani (Japanese: 九谷焼) is a type of Japanese porcelain that was produced in the city of Kaga, modern Ishikawa Prefecture. The production standard corresponds to the criteria laid down and developed by Arita. Even today, most Kutani porcelain is hand-painted. The face is created using 2-5 layers of porcelain mass.
The set is in excellent condition, without cracks or scuffs.
Tea cups have a capacity of 150 ml. Plate diameter is 14 cm.
