Overview

Art Deco table lamp, opaline uranium glass, Italy, early 20th century

This rare and elegant Art Deco lamp is a true collector’s piece, made in Italy in the early 1900s. The base and central body are crafted from pale green opaline uranium glass, known for its subtle luminescence under UV light—a feature that makes it both historically significant and visually captivating. The delicate golden floral motifs are applied by hand and remain beautifully preserved, adding a refined decorative element to the translucent glass.

The upper globe is a hand-blown glass shade with soft frosted details and a finely ruffled rim, contributing to the lamp's romantic and graceful silhouette. Originally an oil lamp, this piece has been carefully electrified and now functions with an LED bulb (included), making it suitable for modern interiors without compromising its antique charm.

This lamp is not only visually striking but also historically rich: opaline glass was first developed in Murano in the 16th century, and the uranium-based green tone became especially prized during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The lamp stands approximately 52 cm tall and remains in excellent condition, with only minimal signs of age.

A refined addition to any interior, this piece would enhance both eclectic and classical decors, offering a soft and atmospheric light. It is an exceptionally rare find on the market today, particularly in this condition and with working electrification.
