Overview
This large cotton banquet tablecloth was created in Western Europe between the late 1920s and the late 1950s. The design is a naive "homemade" interpretation of the Art Deco style, touchingly and cozily combining geometric patterns and stylized floral motifs.
Time of creation: between the late 1920s and the late 1950s.
Country of origin: Western Europe
Material: 100% ecru cotton;
Finishing: The tablecloth is adorned with hand embroidery in grey cotton threads, executed in two complex techniques: the openwork cutwork "Richelieu" embroidery and padded satin stitch. The level of craftsmanship and stylistic execution allows this work to be attributed to the "Madeira style," which is a benchmark of European embroidery art.
Size: 160 / 260 cm.
Condition: Excellent, the tablecloth has been treated, laundered, and is ready for use.
Note: As a bonus, one embroidered napkin of a matching style is included with the tablecloth.
