Overview

Teapot, silver plated, England, 1880s

A stunning example of Victorian silver plate by renowned English silversmiths James Deakin and Sons, this teapot features intricate Rococo-inspired chased decoration throughout. Its elegant profile is accentuated by a blank cartouche for monogramming, a handle adorned with acanthus details, and a lid topped with a charming pinecone-shaped finial. Raised on four lion paw feet, it has a majestic presence yet remains highly functional. The silver surface is well preserved with only minor scuffs on the handle, typical for its age and use. This refined piece not only serves beautifully but brings a touch of historic grandeur to any setting. Measurements: height 24 cm, length 22 cm, width 12 cm. Capacity approximately 1 liter.
