Meat clamp, Silverplate and Cow horn, Leg of Lamb holder, 1920s France
In French this is called “Manche a Gigot”. It will hold the bone while carving a leg of lamb or ham so that your hands stay clean. The handle is made of smoothly carved cow horn, which terminates with a oblique edge, embellished at the junction with Silver plated Rococo motif decoration. The metal part is pre-stainless steel. The joint is tight and firm.
