Meat clamp, Silver, Leg of Lamb holder, 1900s France
Overview
Meat clamp, Silver, Leg of Lamb holder, 1920s France
Antique Art Nouveau Silver Ham or Lamb Bone Holder, in French this is called “Manche a Gigot”. It will hold the bone while carving a leg of lamb or ham so that your hands stay clean. The silver plated handle is simply ornated with a Monogram. The silver handle shows some wear. The metal part is pre-stainless steel. The joint is tight and firm.
Made in the late 1800’s to very early 1900’s, the Art Nouveau period was relatively short, which makes art nouveau pieces rarer to find. Such a wonderful table antique to add to your collection.
