This refined mid-century Florentine tray was handcrafted using the traditional multi-step gilding technique that originated in Renaissance Italy. Measuring 44 × 32 cm, it is made of polyplast — a material developed to imitate carved wood while offering superior durability and water resistance, making the tray both beautiful and practical.

The surface features hand-applied gold leaf and delicate scrollwork painted in soft blue, ivory, and pale gold tones. The scalloped edges and symmetrical central medallion are hallmarks of the “Florentine technique,” which historically involved up to nine separate steps — from base carving and gilding to intricate patina finishes — now partially lost and carried on by only a few workshops in Italy.
